Programs at Sunrise Health Consultancy

Sunrise programs are developmentally appropriate, activity based and designed to meet the individuals' goals. 

All of the programs are delivered in a variety of setting and can be tailor made to suit your needs.  Take a look at the Happy Clients! page to see feedback received from these programs.

 

Program 1: Pram Jam

Ty Birthday 005.jpgPram Jam is an outdoor exercise and social program for parents and babies, who would like to get out of the house, get back to being fit and healthy and want to have fun with their baby and other parents.

 

Why Pram Jam?:

  • Improvements in muscle tone- this means tighter, firmer muscles

  • Improve flexibility

Program 2: SPOT on Kids

SPOT on Kids small group programs are run by a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist . The six session programs incorporates speech, language, organisation, fine motor, gross motor and visual perception skills in a fun environment. The groups are run with children at similar developmental stages with encouragement, fun and skill development being the focus of the program.

SPOT on Kids will benefit children with:

  • Language and Motor skill challenges
  • Reading, handwriting and spelling difficulties
  • Learning Difficulties

Currently 3 programs are running for the following ages;

  • Junior- Kindergarten to Year 2
  • Senior- Year 3 to Year 6
  • Secondary- Year 7 to Year 10

Program 3: Training workshops and Consultancy

Training workshops and Consultancy services are designed for schools, parents, community groups and government organisations to meet the professional development needs of the staff and to enhance the knowledge of parents and carers. Program 4: Setting Up for Success

Setting up for Success is a classroom and small group organisation program which works through organisation challenges children face within a school and home environment. The program contains activities to complete within a classroom and within a small group. Tips Sheets are provided to teachers, parents and students for reinforcement of skills. Through fun and informative activities, the students will learn how to organise themselves by using the Stop/Goal/Plan/Do/Check model to increase success and independence.

Program 5: Wiggle While You Learn

Wiggle While You Learn is an interactive program that works on developing the skills of teachers and students. It incorporates the trialing of strategies to help students sit and focus, be able to work without being distracted and to efficiently process information received through the senses. 

Wiggle While You Learn opens people’s minds to different teaching strategies and allows children to explore what their bodies need to help them learn and focus better.

Program 6: Have a Go – A Health and Fitness Program for Kids

Have a GoHave a Go is a group exercise program developed by Paediatric Occupational Therapist Angela Lockwood of Sunrise Health Consultancy and Fitness Consultant Sue Reid of Discovery Health and Fitness. 

Have a Go focuses on improving health and fitness and gross motor function through the use of developmentally appropriate, games and exercises. Children will participate in a variety of fun activities, which incorporates the use of games, dance and exercises to improve their strength, fitness and gross motor skills (i.e. jumping, hopping and ball skills).

The Have a Go program aims to:

  • Improve self-esteem, self-confidence and motivation in children.
  • Encourage participation in group exercise and physical activity.
  • Provide opportunities for improvements in posture balance and coordination.
  • Develop general muscle tone and core body strength.
